StarDome is one of the longest established
mobile planetariums in the UK
StarDome travels throughout the UK
We have given shows and presentations as far away as Gretna and Annan in Scotland to Portland on the South Coast and every where in-between

UPDATED PROJECTOR CYLINDERS FROM MAY 2010
The New Star-Field Cylinder with Milky Way

New Greek Constellation Cylinder

We thought it was time for a change so we have invested in these newer and updated projection cylinders for your viewing pleasure
After extensive research we have also invested in newer technology, brighter, projection bulbs from the USA to give a much improved projection image.
The Planetarium entrance is through a zip style doorway so there is no tunnel to crawl down as in
some other planetaria

This makes StarDome easy to enter and exit
It is also wheelchair / disabled friendly

StarDome is able to accommodate a maximum of
34 people seated on chairs making it a
professional auditorium
where chairs are not available we can utilise gym mats or the floor can be used allowing for up to
40 people per show

From experience we know that 40 is our maximum number for comfort and your enjoyment
StarDome can easily allow a school class at a time
to have the StarDome experience

At the London Science Museum

Ideal set up scenario
From time to time we are asked to attend events where the planetarium is requested and public lectures take place. When Andrew is asked to give a public lecture at such an event the planetarium shows still continue as we will have expert guest astronomers on hand to do the planetarium shows. Our guest presenters are chosen very carefully. We only accept and allow those who we know have the knowledge of the subjects and the ability to present in a way that is factual, engaging and entertaining. We will never compromise our outstanding reputation by using inferior presenters!

Chairs for that professional auditorium feel
For events and festivals a separate, quiet location is recommended as the dome is
NOT
sound-proof
An adjoining assembly area is also recommended
