STARDOME IN SPACE - INTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION
StarDome's Andrew Green was we recently honoured when his picture was carried aboard a space mission and to the ISS. StarDome also became the FIRST and ONLY Planetarium in the world to have a picture in orbit.
Our Image is now back on planet earth having spent almost 7 months on the International Space Station with StarDome's friend & Soviet Cosmonaut Mikhail Tyurin. Mikhail even sent us a greeting from ISS at Xmas.
We have friends in high places
This image shows Mikhail holding a picture of himself during his last spacewalk. The picture is signed to StarDome's Andrew Green.
Our picture was carried by Mikhail aboard the Soyuz TMA-9/ISS Expedition 14 Mission.
This was a special mission as it carried the worlds first paying female space tourist Anousheh Ansari to the ISS Our picture returned to earth 7 months later with another fee paying tourist Charles Simonyi.
Our picture has now returned to Earth and Mikhail is back on terra firma having completed his latest long duration space mission. Congartulations Mikhail from Andrew Green - StarDome Director & Astronomer.
