I was a great honour to meet David, he is one of the most successful comet discoverers in history. To date (Feb. 2008) has discovered a staggering 22 comets!
In 1993 along with astronomers Eugene and Carolyn Shoemaker at the Palomar Observatory in California he discovered Shoemaker-Levy 9, the comet that collided with Jupiter in 1994.
