A RECENT TRIP TO DUXFORD
Dragon Rapide & a distant view of Cambridge City Airport (EGSC) where I fly from as we do a circuit in the Rapide around Duxford
I recently took my son Elliott along to the Imperial War Museum at Duxford to give him a tour of the facilities there.
It was a fair day and we even managed to get a ride in a DeHavilland Dragon Rapide.

Here is a picture of me taken many years ago ( I was 12 at the time!) I am in the middle on the front row. This was taken at RAF Finningly (Now Robin Hood Airport) on a trip arranged by Sheffield Astronomical Society's then president Stuart Lonsdale. Stuart is Sheffield Astronomical Society Honorary Life President
I owe most of my interests in astronomy, space and aviation to both Stuart Lonsdale (Sheffield Astronomical Society Honorary Life President) & Kim Lindley (Sheffield Astronomical Society Former President) who encouraged and guided me along. They have both been good friends ever since I first met them well over 25 years ago.

I was also lucky enough a few years ago to have 2 great trips to RAF Conningsby organised by a member of the Training Cell there. This was an up close and personal look at RAF 56sqn (The Firebirds) an awesome 2 days with the front line Tornado F3's. This squadron the "Tornado F3 Operational Conversion Unit" with its Tornado F3s has now moved north to RAF Leuchars whilst the "Tornado F3 Operational Evaluation Unit" moved to nearby RAF Waddington. http://www.raf.mod.uk/squadrons/h56.html
